Find out how you can transform your smile with Lumiére Dental Centre’s cosmetic dentistry treatments in the Sydney CBD

Do you look in the mirror and grimace when you notice those cracks, coffee stains or gaps in your smile? If so, this year could be your chance to make a change to the way you feel as there are multiple ways to achieve a more cosmetically appealing smile. Lumiére

Dental Centre offers a range of procedures for the appearance of your smile including dental implants, Invisalign, crowns and whitening.

Today we’ll discuss how each of these procedures could transform your smile.

1. Dental Implants

Dental implants are the most stunning advancement in dentistry; they perfectly combine cosmetics with function. If you have a missing tooth then dental implants are the most beneficial solution for the health of your mouth and the appearance of your smile. This is because the titanium implant acts as a synthetic tooth root that will anchor your new state-of-the-art dental crown. This relationship is much sturdier than dentures and helps stimulate jawbone health which is important as you age so you can continue eating the foods you love without inconvenience.

With over twelve years of experience in dental implantology, Dr Elkhatib can complete flawless dental implants treatments that look natural and feel comfortable.

2. Invisalign

Invisalign, otherwise known as invisible braces or clear braces is an alternative to braces with many benefits.

Invisalign is:

• Removable for events and so you can eat whatever you want
• Easy to clean
• Transparent so it doesn’t distract from your appearance
• Very hygienic compared to braces

This is why so many teenagers and adults are making Invisalign their orthodontic appliance of choice! It’s a simple process that uses computerised technology to create custom made aligners which are swapped throughout your treatment. You won’t need to visit your dentist for regular adjustment appointments (unlike braces) and overall patients find that this procedure is more comfortable compared to metal braces.

3. Dental Crowns

This is a standard dental procedure that can both improve the appearance and health of a tooth. If you have a tooth that has been damaged by decay, or if you have received a root canal then a dental crown may be fitted. They are custom made with porcelain so they are durable and they blend perfectly with your existing teeth. The colour and shape is also customised so that no one has to know it’s not a real tooth!

4. Veneers

Veneers are similar to crowns in the way they conceal the teeth, however veneers are purely cosmetic and conceal the teeth in a cap as thin as a contact lens without wearing down the teeth. Patients generally opt to receive veneers on the teeth that are most visible when they smile. For most people these are the 10 most central teeth on the top arch of the mouth, which is referred to as ‘the smile zone’. Veneers are a wonderful way to conceal various problems with your smile including discolouration, chips and cracks – so it’s really one of the best cosmetic treatments available!

Here at Lumiére Dental Centre we use the Digital Smile Design concept. Dr Elkhatib takes pictures, models and uses computer software to analyse the pictures and customise the perfect smile for his patient. Hence our patients are able to see the analysis and the treatment proposed before the going ahead with the smile rejuvenation procedure. If our patient is happy then we can proceed with the second step which is a “mock up” for the teeth. At this stage Dr Elkhatib will add a layer of composite resin to the teeth and the patient will “test drive” the smile before proceeding to the “tooth preparation stage”.

Digital Smile Design is an excellent communication tool between Dr Elkhatib and his patients.View a video of Dr Elkahatib using our Digital Smile Design software and applying veneers here.

5. Whitening

We saved the best for last! Teeth whitening is the most popular cosmetic procedure as it delivers rapid and effective results. It’s especially popular for people who have smoked previously or are regular tea and coffee drinkers as their teeth may need regular whitening procedures. Although it’s always recommended to avoid staining foods to reduce the frequency of your whitening appointments as too many treatments can lead to sensitivity in some cases.

Here at Lumiére Dental Centre we offer the SDI Pola Office teeth whitening system which is one of the most advanced whitening procedures available in Australia. This is an in chair whitening system which can be completed in a lunch break and with good care the results can last up to a year. It is also recommended that you use an at home whitening kit to lengthen your results.
